A good year – 2018 – day 48

Saturday! Sleep in…Not!

I was woken early with a leg cramp. My knee, which I thought I had not damaged, has bruising behind the kneecap. I must not have drunk enough last night and I haven’t had a banana for a while…my potassium intake is low!

When I go to bed tonight I had better take my Cramp-Eze tablets!

I had been given a task by a work colleague who likes to draw. To send her wildlife photos so she can draw them. Challenge accepted!

She refuses to be on Facebook (which for a 24-year-old astounds me) but is to be expected given her family background, but I will find a way! She has also asked me if I had ever played matchmaker and had to confess that I had 75% success rate. Two of my matches are still together after 20 years, two daughters and going well!! (He was a rival in a three-way contest for a girl’s heart when growing up, but that’s a whole different story!!)

The job at hand seems to be to find a match for a 28-year-old female Auslan teacher who is going over to Vanuatu for four months teaching deaf children, and in that time to line up a beau… She has never dated, instead being introverted, and shy (and going to Vanuatu!!)  This could be interesting!!

So I am now poring through my saved photos to find suitable to draw… coming up with ideas to matchmake, and catching up on administration and writing plans for the Happy Feet Bushwalk 2018 and the BVRT Trek 4 DQ.

Among all this, I went shopping to collect my laptop case and eldest daughter and second daughter went with me as they also needed other things as well. I must say, when I was growing up, it was not right for dads to take their daughters on a shopping trip without mum! But here I am in North Lakes Shopping Centre, with my two eldest daughters (one 20 and the other nearly 16)!! And what did I notice, I wasn’t the only dad! Good to see, so many times I go out like this and wonder if there are prying eyes thinking how inappropriate that is!!

So home at lunchtime, and then sat down at the laptop with lunch, and then it was time to sort out the shed and mow the lawn. Only mowed half the lawn as I had reached my 10,000 steps limit and needed to keep some for tomorrow!

Evening came with no sign of storms.. Yay!

Nice quiet one then to bed…2 Cramp-Eze tablets as I retired!
