Its Friday today…
I travel to work with the second daughter with me as she goes in for her one-day a week TAFE attendance in Nursing. She looked resplendent in her “uniform” (requested work clothes) and looked professional.
We parted company at the station and I headed to work, thinking of my eldest daughter who was coming home today for three days leave from the hospital. She is nearly the required weight to be discharged, and being sent home to see if she is ready to be out for good!
At work, I had big wins with migration of data…and the design of the database for the data is schmicko! Now for two weeks to fill the database with the files.
Messaged from second daughter that she was heading home as soon as TAFE finished, so I was left to my own devices to go home.
Going home was interesting, as a storm came through the city as I was getting on the train. As the train headed home, it eventually punched through the front of the storm to spectacular lightning, heavy rain, and sounded like hail at one station. By the time I arrived at my station, it was dry, and the storm was well behind, having also changed direction behind us.
So the family, including my eldest daughter, decided to meet me and we went off to the local Chinese takeaway. After sitting there for about 45 mins after placing the order the owner came out with another order and stared at me and said, “which order are you?” I said, “the one with special fried rice and sweet and sour pork.” She said “Very sorry!” went out the back and about five minutes later came out with the order, a large bag of FREE prawn chips and offered a choice of 1.25 litre soft drink also FREE! I thanked her very much and on arrival at home it was like feeding the wolves!!
Then it was a quiet night as I caught up on the emails for the BVRT Trek 4 DQ and processed them, and found a few people had requested registration forms now. This is growing to be a GREAT event.
The end of an exceptional day.
